Recently, according to Baotou Statistics WeChat, from January to November 2025, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size in Baotou City increased by 11.3% year-on-year, increased by 0.5 percentage points compared to January-October, respectively higher than the national level (6%) and autonomous region level (6.5%) by 5.3 and 4.8 percentage points, maintaining the first place in the autonomous region for two consecutive months. Among them, the rare earth industry value added in Baotou City increased by 24.6% year-on-year.
By the three major categories, value added in the mining industry increased by 19.4% year-on-year, manufacturing increased by 10%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply increased by 9.1%. Among the 34 major industry categories, 21 industries maintained value added growth, with a growth coverage of 61.8%. Among them, the non-ferrous metal mining and dressing industry value added increased by 72.7%, increased by 13.3 percentage points compared to January-October, driving the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size to increase by 1 percentage point. The rare earth industry provided significant support. The rare earth industry value added increased by 24.6% year-on-year, driving the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size to increase by 3.2 percentage points, with a contribution rate of 28.3% to the city's value added of industrial enterprises above designated size, increased by 2.1 percentage points compared to January-October. Emerging industries are being nurtured and strengthened. The fluorine chemical industry and hydrogen energy storage industry value added increased by 29.5% and 63.6% year-on-year respectively, increased by 4 and 6 percentage points respectively compared to January-October.
From January to November 2025, fixed asset investment in Baotou City increased by 6.1% year-on-year, respectively higher than the national level (-2.6%) and autonomous region level (3.5%) by 8.7 and 2.6 percentage points. Industrial investment maintained relatively fast growth. From January to November, industrial investment increased by 12.5% year-on-year, higher than total investment by 6.4 percentage points, driving total investment growth by 9.4 percentage points. New energy investment accelerated layout. Wind power industry and hydrogen energy storage industry investment increased by 1.2 times and 1.8 times year-on-year respectively, driving total investment growth by 6.4 and 4.5 percentage points respectively. New projects entering the database provided strong support. The city had 690 new projects entering the database, increased by 45 compared to the same period, with completed investment increased by 51.8%; 217 new industrial projects above RMB 100 million started construction, increased by 38 compared to the same period, with completed investment increased by 75.2%, driving total investment growth by 24 and 24.5 percentage points respectively, increased by 1.5 and 0.4 percentage points respectively compared to January-October.
