It features a high melting point, excellent high-temperature strength, a low thermal expansion coefficient, corrosion resistance, and good thermal and electrical conductivity. Molybdenum bars are widely used as heating elements in vacuum/protective atmosphere high-temperature furnaces, electrodes in glass melting furnaces, and as sputtering target blanks.
