China Rare Earth Exports in October 2025

        Customs data show that in October 2025, China's rare earth imports were 6,991.0 tonnes, increased by 1.84% month-on-month, decreased by 26.19% year-on-year, with import value of RMB 0.9 billion, decreased by 10.00% month-on-month, increased by 5.88% year-on-year; rare earth exports were 4,343.5 tonnes, increased by 8.58% month-on-month, decreased by 8.62% year-on-year; export value was RMB 0.4 billion, decreased by 6.98% month-on-month, increased by 42.86% year-on-year.

        From this, it can be seen that in October, rare earth import volume increased month-on-month, but import value decreased month-on-month, indicating that the average import price of rare earth products in October was lower than in September; in October, rare earth import volume decreased year-on-year, but import value increased year-on-year, indicating that the average import price of rare earth products in October was higher than in October last year.

        In October, rare earth export volume increased month-on-month, but export value decreased month-on-month, indicating that the average export price of rare earth products in October was lower than in September; in October, rare earth export volume decreased year-on-year, but export value increased sharply year-on-year, indicating that the average export price of rare earth products in October was significantly higher than in October last year.

        Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 584,111 per ton, decreased by approximately 9.13% month-on-month, increased by 34.59% year-on-year; neodymium oxide RMB 582,722 per ton, decreased by approximately 9.15% month-on-month, increased by 34.27% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide RMB 526,000 per ton, decreased by approximately 8.94% month-on-month, increased by 22.77% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal RMB 642,833 per ton, decreased by approximately 10.01% month-on-month, increased by 21.34% year-on-year; terbium oxide RMB 6,911 per kilogram, decreased by approximately 4.44% month-on-month, increased by 16.00% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide RMB 1,611,667 per ton, decreased by approximately 0.97% month-on-month, decreased by approximately 9.63% year-on-year; dysprosium-iron alloy RMB 1,551,111 per ton, decreased by approximately 2.12% month-on-month, decreased by approximately 12.09% year-on-year.

        Rare earth elements include the 15 lanthanide elements plus scandium and yttrium, totaling 17 metals, with unique electronic configurations that confer outstanding magnetic, optical, electrical, and catalytic properties, mainly manifesting as high magnetic energy product, precise spectral absorption and emission, high conductivity, and excellent catalytic activity; their applications are concentrated in high-end manufacturing fields, including permanent magnet materials for new energy vehicle motors and wind turbine generators, luminescent materials for displays and efficient light sources, catalytic materials for automotive exhaust treatment and petroleum refining, as well as key fields such as aerospace components, electronic functional devices, and advanced ceramics.
