According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the General Administration of Customs, from January to August 2025, China's cumulative import volume of molybdenum products reached 53,897.90 tons, increased by 22.54% year-on-year; the cumulative import value was 7.957 billion yuan, increased by 30.77% year-on-year.
Among these, from January to August, China's imports of roasted molybdenum ore and concentrates were 7,509.35 tons, increased by 111.41% year-on-year; other molybdenum ores and concentrates were 38,968.93 tons, increased by 19.71% year-on-year; molybdenum oxides and hydroxides were 1,331.43 tons, decreased by 3.25% year-on-year; ammonium molybdate was 1,357.56 tons, increased by 155.53% year-on-year; other molybdates were 686.62 tons, decreased by 15.89% year-on-year; ferromolybdenum was 3,834.35 tons, decreased by 21.97% year-on-year; molybdenum powder was 3.03 tons, decreased by 7.54% year-on-year; unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, was 13.54 tons, increased by 193,271.43% year-on-year; molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, and sections, plates, sheets, strips, and foil were 145.67 tons, decreased by 26.72% year-on-year; molybdenum wire was 31.62 tons, increased by 32.40% year-on-year; and other molybdenum products were 15.80 tons, increased by 11.24% year-on-year.
From January to August 2025, China's cumulative export volume of molybdenum products reached 23,526.89 tons, decreased by 14.42% year-on-year; the cumulative export value was 5.15 billion yuan, decreased by 16.64% year-on-year.
Among these, from January to August, China's exports of roasted molybdenum ore and concentrates were 9,154.55 tons, decreased by 3.62% year-on-year; other molybdenum ores and concentrates were 5,483.82 tons, decreased by 5.25% year-on-year; molybdenum oxides and hydroxides were 1,361.73 tons, decreased by 29.43% year-on-year; ammonium molybdate was 213.34 tons, decreased by 36.70% year-on-year; other molybdates were 226.18 tons, decreased by 7.77% year-on-year; ferromolybdenum was 3,600.95 tons, decreased by 28.30% year-on-year; molybdenum powder was 76.89 tons, decreased by 60.41% year-on-year; unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, was 1,361.19 tons, decreased by 28.34% year-on-year; molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, and sections, plates, sheets, strips, and foil were 388.22 tons, decreased by 32.41% year-on-year; molybdenum wire was 210.26 tons, increased by 5.18% year-on-year; molybdenum waste and scrap were 1,242.61 tons, decreased by 23.84% year-on-year; and other molybdenum products were 207.16 tons, increased by 21.27% year-on-year.
