Rare earth market update on August 25, 2025
At the beginning of the week, the overall focus of domestic rare earth prices has shifted downward, primarily due to a significant price increase by many suppliers last week and strong resistance from downstream users due to high prices. Today, the price of praseodymium oxide decreased by approximately 9,000 yuan per ton, the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by about 5,000 yuan per ton, the price of terbium oxide decreased by approximately 20 yuan per kilogram, and the price of dysprosium oxide decreased by about 20,000 yuan per ton. However, influenced by strong production cost support and significant optimism among industry players about future market prospects, the extent of supplier price reductions remains limited. Notably, the price of neodymium-iron-boron blanks continued to rise today, with the price of 52M neodymium-iron-boron blank blocks increased by approximately 3 yuan per kilogram.
According to Shanghai Securities News, in the first half of 2025, Jinli Permanent Magnet achieved revenue of 3.507 billion yuan, increased by 4.33% year-on-year; of which, main business revenue was 3.226 billion yuan, increased by 11.08% year-on-year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 305 million yuan, increased by 154.81% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 234 million yuan, increased by 588.18% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, the company’s revenue from the new energy vehicle and auto parts sector was 1.675 billion yuan, with a corresponding product sales volume increased by 28.14% year-on-year; revenue from the energy-saving inverter air conditioner sector was 1.05 billion yuan, with sales volume increased by 19.85% year-on-year; the wind power generation sector achieved sales revenue of 214 million yuan; and the robotics and industrial servo motor sector recorded sales revenue of 133 million yuan.
