According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in July 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) reached 2,418.96 tons, a year-on-year increase of 76.83% compared to July 2024, and a month-on-month increase of 2.75% compared to June 2025. The import value amounted to RMB 321 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 70.23% and a month-on-month increase of 18.44%.
In July 2025, China imported:
Tungsten ores & concentrates: 2,096.59 tons, a year-on-year increase of 107.57%, but a month-on-month decrease of 2.58%.
Tungsten trioxides: 205 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 96.60%, and a month-on-month decrease of 81.68%.
Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 5 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 99.99%, with no recorded imports in June.
Tungsten hexafluoride: 31.58 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 46.77%, and a month-on-month decrease of 13.33%.
Ammonium paratungstate: 2,002 kg (imported from the United States).
Sodium tungstate: 196.38 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.57%, but a month-on-month increase of 29.84%.
Calcium wolframate: 78.30 tons.
Carbides of tungsten: 9,072 kg, a year-on-year increase of 2,107.30%, and a month-on-month increase of 17.76%.
Tungsten powders: 1,645 kg, a year-on-year increase of 231.65%, but a month-on-month decrease of 52.17%.
Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 2 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 99.79%, and a month-on-month decrease of 71.43%.
Tungsten wire: 448 kg, a year-on-year increase of 16.36%, but a month-on-month decrease of 11.46%.
Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc.: 465 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 44.04%, but a month-on-month increase of 114.29%.
Additionally, in July 2025, China imported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 59.52 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.41%, and a month-on-month decrease of 2.72%.
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 40.17 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.38%, and a month-on-month decrease of 5.87%.
