According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in June 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) amounted to 2,354.51 tons. This represents a year-on-year increase of 98.75% compared to June 2024 and a month-on-month increase of 67.05% compared to May 2025. The import value was RMB 272 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 70.17% and a month-on-month increase of 74.41%.
Breakdown of Tungsten Product Imports in June 2025
In June 2025, China imported the following tungsten products:
Tungsten ores and concentrates: 2,152.37 tons, a year-on-year increase of 135.72% and a month-on-month increase of 56.73%.
Tungsten trioxides: 1,119 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 55.81% but a month-on-month increase of 366.25%.
Tungsten hexafluoride: 36.44 tons, a year-on-year increase of 29.42% and a month-on-month increase of 77.02%.
Sodium tungstate: 151.25 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.59% but a month-on-month increase of 2,291.34%.
Carbides of tungsten: 7,704 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 5.12% but a month-on-month increase of 682.13%.
Tungsten powders: 3,439 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 23.01% but a month-on-month increase of 11.69%.
Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering: 7 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 93.86% but a month-on-month increase of 600.00%.
Tungsten wire: 506 kilograms, a year-on-year increase of 2.43% and a month-on-month increase of 5.64%.
Bars and rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc.: 217 kilograms, a year-on-year decrease of 77.28% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.44%.
Additionally, in June 2025, China imported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 61.19 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.05% and a month-on-month increase of 1.43%.
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 42.67 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.93% but a month-on-month increase of 32.87%.
