Recently, according to a report from the Baotou City Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in February 2025, among the 36 key industrial products monitored in Baotou City, 19 products, including aluminum, copper, and neodymium metal, saw price increases month-on-month, while 2 products, such as monocrystalline silicon and photovoltaic modules, maintained stable prices, and 15 products, including pig iron, polypropylene, and magnesium, experienced price declines. Year-on-year, 11 products, such as aluminum, hydrogen fluoride, and praseodymium-neodymium metal, recorded price increases, while 25 products, including rebar, polypropylene, and magnesium, saw price decreases.
In terms of rare earth price in Baotou in February 2025, among the 8 key monitored rare earth products, all showed a month-on-month upward trend. The highest month-on-month increase was for cerium oxide, with an average price of 8,563 yuan/ton, up by 674 yuan/ton or 8.5% month-on-month, and up by 1,946 yuan/ton or 29.4% year-on-year. Year-on-year, 6 products saw price increases, while 2 experienced declines, with cerium oxide recording the highest year-on-year increase.
According to Chinatungsten Online, the price trend of rare earth products in China in February 2025 showed an oscillating upward movement. The price of praseodymium oxide rose by approximately 41,000 yuan/ton, a 9.58% increase; neodymium oxide increased by about 44,000 yuan/ton, up 10.48%; praseodymium-neodymium oxide rose by around 33,000 yuan/ton, up 7.91%; praseodymium-neodymium metal increased by approximately 38,000 yuan/ton, up 7.39%; terbium oxide rose by about 510 yuan/kg, up 8.56%; dysprosium oxide increased by roughly 70,000 yuan/ton, up 4.19%; and dysprosium-iron alloy rose by approximately 40,000 yuan/ton, up 2.44%.
Regarding non-ferrous metal price, among the 3 key monitored non-ferrous metal products in February, the average price of aluminum was 20,521 yuan/ton, up 490 yuan/ton or 2.4% month-on-month, and up 1,731 yuan/ton or 9.2% year-on-year; the average price of magnesium was 17,775 yuan/ton, down 125 yuan/ton or 0.7% month-on-month, and down 3,825 yuan/ton or 17.7% year-on-year; the average price of copper was 76,978 yuan/ton, up 1,928 yuan/ton or 2.6% month-on-month, and up 8,565 yuan/ton or 12.5% year-on-year.
