Rare earth market update on March 10, 2025
At the beginning of the week, domestic rare earth price fluctuated within a narrow range. Specifically, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, gadolinium oxide, and dysprosium oxide stabilized at approximately 442,000 yuan/ton, 165,000 yuan/ton, and 1,720,000 yuan/ton, respectively. On the positive side, several factors supported the market: first, the spot supply from rare earth mining companies remained tight; second, imports of rare earth minerals from Myanmar continued to be relatively limited; and third, downstream industries such as robotics and smart home appliances are experiencing rapid development. On the negative side, the current high prices of rare earth raw materials, combined with tight liquidity, have dampened the enthusiasm of downstream users, resulting in lower actual transaction volumes in the market and hindering product price increases.
In terms of news, on March 7, Huahong Technology’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Xintai Technology, along with its subsidiaries Wanhong High-Tech and Jishui Jincheng, signed the "2025 Annual Cooperation Agreement for Praseodymium-Neodymium Product Procurement" with Northern Rare Earth. The agreement spans from February 2025 to December 2025, with an annual procurement volume ranging from 1,100 to 1,650 tons and a monthly order volume of 100 to 150 tons. The pricing will be based on the market price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide at the time of signing each monthly purchase and sale contract. This cooperation aims to secure a stable and sustainable supply of rare earth oxide products for Xintai Technology and its subsidiaries over the next 11 months, ensuring operational stability and continuity.
