There are many types of transparent thermal insulation nanopowders. Among them, blue tungsten oxide nanopowder has good near-infrared and ultraviolet shielding characteristics and high visible light transmittance. So, the transparent thermal insulation nanopowder can be used for the preparation of transparent heat-insulating film.
The particles of the raw material APT powder have relatively regular hexahedral characteristic. And the APT powder is coarse with rough surface and many cracks. It was found by observing the morphology of the blue tungsten oxide (BTO) obtained by reducing the raw material APT at 40°C that:
Blue tungsten oxide retains almost the hexahedral characteristic of APT particles, but due to the cracking of APT particles during reduction process, the shape of BTO is less regular than APT’s. And the particle size of BTO is coarse. The APT with coarse surface reduces to obtain blue tungsten oxide with more cracks on the surface. And the BTO particles are also coarse. Obviously, the appearance of APT is hereditary.
