Oxygen Index and Color Change of Blue Tungsten Oxide
Desiccant method may be used to determine the oxygen index of blue tungsten oxide. The oxygen index is in the range of 2.96-2.90 at the temperature range of 350-500°C. As the temperature rises, blue tungsten oxide is gradually reduced and part of it has been converted to WO2.72 product. From the color of blue tungsten oxide, it can also be seen that the color of the product becomes deeper as temperature rises, and purple WO2.72 begins to appear at the temperature of 550°C, but part of the color of blue tungsten oxide is retained, thus forming an uneven mixture.
