Tungsten carbide cutting wheel of a glass cutter can be replaced when it wears out or breaks, and most tool-sharpening shops can weld a new cutting wheel onto a glass cutter. Although the initial cost of a glass cutter with a tungsten carbide cutting wheel is more, it is replaceable, making the cutting tool more affordable in the long run.
