Sol-gel method is a commonly used method for preparing nano-semiconductor powder. General, the preparing process is the hydrolysis of inorganic salt or metal alkoxide, then polymerization and gelation, or adding organic acid to the obtained solution system as ligand, and the pH value of the solution system is adjusted with the inorganic acid and alkali, and finally the solvent is slowly evaporated to obtain gel, and the gel is dried and calcined to obtain final product.
Other sol-gel methods include ion exchange method, and alkoxide hydrolysis method of tungsten, etc. In the post-treatment process, the sol-gel method inevitably requires a high-temperature calcination process to remove organic components, and the calcination process may increase the sample particles and the surface hydroxyl group will be greatly reduced, which is not conducive to the improvement of the photocatalytic performance of the sample.
