Nano grain size yellow tungsten oxide may be used as a raw material for producing heat insulation coating, which mainly reflects the selectivity of yellow tungsten oxide for the transmission of different spectrums of sunlight. The development and application of such heat-insulating coating on the surface of transparent glass such as ordinary glass and PMMA is expected to solve the technical problem, which has always limited the building glass having high transmittance and high heat insulation. Such thermal insulation coating may be applied in building glass and automobile glass by brush coating or spray coating with professional tools.
In addition, yellow tungsten oxide also has gaschromic property. WO3-SiO2 nano composite film maybe prepared on glass substrate by a combination of sol-gel method and spin coating method using W powder and tetraethyl orthosilicate as raw materials. Gaschromic performance of high temperature treated composite film and WO3 film were tested to find that the composite film has a faster color response rate than pure WO3 film.
