For example, a series of yellow tungsten oxide materials with special surface wettability can be synthesized by different methods and be applied in the fields of emulsion separation and superhydrophobic coating. By changing the pH value of the precursor in the hydrothermal process, the surface morphology and surface composition of the product can be controlled, which affects the wetting properties of the yellow tungsten oxide product ultimately. Yellow tungsten oxide film with different morphology can be prepared on a 400 mesh stainless steel mesh by simple hydrothermal method and the results show that the obtained yellow tungsten oxide film can have an underwater oil contact angle of up to 152.5°, which shows good underwater superoleophobicity.
